Re: Rule clarification about Miatas
The rule makes perfect sense. I got the 2393 lb from the Kelly Blue Book web site. The reason I'm most interested in S5 is because there are more season-long competitors. In 2012, S4 seemed to be more hit and miss, entry-wise. My other thought is that I may learn faster by having consistent, quick ...

Re: Insuring a hill climb car for the street
VERY Good point Steve. It should also be noted that if you think peolpe drive like morons before you start towing large loads, just wait till you start towing, people in front of you seam to become even less aware of physics and inertia laws.Rabbit Farmer wrote:Life can be shortened with the wrong tow vehicle.

Re: Insuring a hill climb car for the street
Does anyone have any recommendations for make/model/specification of trailer that would be "appropriate" for using my Mazda2 to tow a Miata? The power to weight ratio (and brake-to-weight ratio) of Jamie's minivan + M3 can't be much different than a Mazda2 + Miata. (The 2 is slightly more...

Walter, last I knew DSG was closing shop, the guyas are parting ways and the dyno is for sale.

Re: Legal or not
Don't forget gloves. And yes, I will say a black helmet and no roof can get quite warm. Okemo, no roof, black helmet and a tendency for me to overheat easy are why I also kept a/c and use a flexible hose to blow air right into my face opening. I have to agree with kevin, the darth vader look is cool...

Re: Rule clarification about Miatas
I ran the S2k for a season with no cage. Factory rollbars, and arm restraits, with the soft top. Walter makes a good point about the fabric coming apart and not keeping your arms in. Kevin also has a good point about any cars' window breaking and not keeping arms in. Maybe with the exception of lexa...

Re: My '86 GTI build
Very good point about fuel mapped systems without a Lamda input. Thanks for posting info on the fuel types, and ethanol contents. I have been thinking of using a race or marine fuel for storing the race car in winter, and sleds in the summer. I was unaware that the Sunoco 100 had that high of a etha...

The rubber is from a drift event held between the Max Long Ascutney, and the Neha Ascutney. Wish I had know about it.

Re: Ascutney #2 (2012) Videos and Photos and Thanks
Glad I went to the event, even though doing the short course was a bit unfullfilling after doing the long course a few weeks prior. The reason I am glad I went mostly, was visiting with friends and seeing everyone. Also glad I listened to Kevin Dennis and stayed sunday and towed back monday as I had...

Re: Ascutney II Length Change
New idea to make everyone who hates the crown or the top, happy. Finish is at check one. Mike Wilson wins in the GTR with a time of 9.03 seconds because a break out, is yet to be established. I finish with a personal best of 14.86 seconds and the new break out time is 12.53 seconds. What's next a hi...
