Re: Good Stuff-Help Me

I've got lots of stuff to get rid of. Mostly new. Make an offer on any item. I'll bring it to the awards banquet or find another way to get it to you. Make an offer. Here's what I've got: 7. Uprated HKS valve springs for Toyota 4AG 16 valve engine. New Would you still happen to have these valve spr...

+1 for these guys. My friend buys it in bulk from them for rollcages. Really nice DOM stuff.

Re: Mt. Washington Hillclimb is on for 2014!

As the posted rules say, you need to call and ask Don. He doesnt read or post here very often. Taco style should be OK, not sure about the minimum thickness. I think the flat triangle type is being accepted because it is easier to weld in place on an existing cage. Access to the top of a taco insta...

Re: Mt. Washington Hillclimb is on for 2014!

The rules are calling out either round tubing or 1/8" thick steel for the gussets at the upper corners. I see no mention of typical 'taco' gussets used in rallycar construction. I wondered if .074" thick taco gussets are accepted.

Re: Scrappy-the Subaru

Anxious to see how the 2.0 turbo likes hillclimb duty, it always seemed a little light on power in the lower rpm range but quite fun in the higher range.....just the opposite of the 2.5 non turbo. The big difference will be that the motor will be mated with the 4.11 transmission rather than the 3.9...

Re: Have wrench, will travel.

It's the megaphones that do it, and the magic bullets. Well, that, and following the teachings of Eddy Henneman, the mad prophet of headers. http://www.headersbyed.com/index.htm If you believe that car magazines are perfect - that they NEVER make mistakes, that they contain information ONLY written...

Re: Anyone for tarmac rally?

We can run on unleaded, however the local race fuel rep (New England Racing Fuels) recommends using leaded fuels whenever possible, that's all. Unleaded has a horrible shelf life and is generally more unstable...we just would need to buy it closer to event time. Leaded fuel will 'keep' for a year or...

Re: Anyone for tarmac rally?

Walter, I have another question about something I didn't see in the regulations. As a hillclimb car, will we be able to run leaded racing fuel, or do we need to follow the typical rally restrictions and run unleaded fuels only?

Thanks,
Bob

Re: Anyone for tarmac rally?

Walter, I'm just curious. I will be co-driving in my friend's hillclimb car. I haven't co-driven since 2001 (my one and only rally event). Since notes have apparently changed appreciably since then, is there a way to get updates on reading current note styles? Or a class given prior to the event? Or...
