Re: Class / Championship Questions?

Can't wait! All I need to do is make sure my car is ready and get a SA-rated helmet (currently have a SNELL M), and I should be able to make it to one of the Okemo events or Ascutney II at the latest. Maybe I'll be able to run most or all of the events next year!

Re: Class / Championship Questions?

OH! That makes more sense, I calculated that for the entire dimension of the wheel rather than just a difference from stock. The wheels I would be using are NX2000 wheels and are 6.0 wide as opposed to the stock SE-R wheels which are 5.5'' wide. Let me redo that sheet with that in mind. That makes a...

Re: Class / Championship Questions?

Welcome! Yes, with just a safe stock car, a suitable and securely mounted fire extinguisher and a suitable helmet you can run in one of our unprepared (U) classes. See the technical regs at: http://www.hillclimb.org/rulesregs.html to read what we require, and at the classification and classificatio...

Re: New to Hill Climb

More on Nick's point. I know you said you were reading thru the rules. That is good. Be sure you understand things that we DO require which may differ from other run-what-ya-brung racing like autocross and drag. This includes things like the aforementioned proper and securely mounted fire extinguis...

Re: New to Hill Climb

You are correct. Your car will be fine at a hillclimb without a roll cage. We require cars that demonstrate they are faster than what we call "breakout time" twice to be caged (before they can run again at a particular hill where they beat the breakout). This lets anyone whose car can pas...

New to Hill Climb

Hi there, I currently compete in SCCA Rallycross and have heard a lot about hill climb, and would be interested in giving it a go! I was reading through the rules - I may be mistaken but is it true that street legal, hardtop cars do not need roll cages under certain circumstances? Could some elabora...
