Re: My '86 GTI build
Aruinos are awesome. The aruino-language is C and C++ but the canned libraries simplify things to the point where the code can look like a higher level language. Walter, I assume you haven't had any issues with code executing quickly enough, but if you do, I may have so tricks to help. I got into th...

Re: 2013 Awards Banquet / 2014 Rules Meeting (official invit
Thanks to everyone that organized the banquet & rules meeting. Everything went very well and I had a great time. There was something I wanted to say to everyone during the banquet but I got stage fright, so here it is: 2013 was a "character building" year for me. Getting divorced from ...

Re: URI Baja Competition Team
Congratulations and good luck.
I did both the NESEA Solar Powered Car competition (Montpelier to Boston) and MiniBaja in college. Learned more there than in many of my classes. Excellent training ground.

Re: Favorit YouTube Hill Climb Channels.
Fantastic. I'm so jealous of the footwork at 3:10. He shifts more in one run than #25 does all year. If memory serves, that car had a naturally aspirated 2.3L inline-four. If that's what's still in it, the hp/L is probably higher than most NEHA turbo cars. I wonder what it's like to drive on roads w...

Re: Lightening doors in S classes
Walter Totally fair points. Part of the reason I want my door bars to project into the door as far as possible is that it make ingress/egress much easier. There's no doubt I'm going to have fixed windows and will certainly earn the "excessive lightening" penalty. My goals were to save spac...

Re: Stand on it
Does anyone else question the wisdom of putting ones reproductive organs above a 100% nitro fueled engine?
The mean-time-between-failures of high revving, nitro-fueled engines has to be measured seconds.

Lightening doors in S classes
The 2013 classification rules for S classes say intrusion bar, outer framework and basic structure of the door must remain intact. My hope was to "hollow out" the drivers door to make room for roll cage door bars with as much crumple room as possible. Running the door bars right behind the...

Re: No traction control in Prepared classes?
I'm beginning to think those rules have been surpassed by technology. Personally, I don't think the launch control built software into Walter's ECU should disqualify him from the P classes. Heck, my $14k econobox violates both rules Jamie quoted and the Mazda2 makes the Miata look really fast. Clear...

Looks like he got the weight transfer just about perfect. Maybe leaving 5 more lbs on the front would be a good idea.
