Re: Street Prepared Classification Question - Inner Door Pan

Yes, currently, the front driver's / passenger's side door have stock inner panels..only the rears are removed at this time. However, if there is no penalty, I'll probably be removing both stock front panels/armrests also, and replace them with alum panel.

Street Prepared Classification Question - Inner Door Panels

The current rules for Street Prepared classification regarding door panels states "Doors may not have any structure removed causing them to be excessively lightened – i.e.; intrusion bar, outer framework and basic structure of the door must remain intact". My cars inner rear door plastic/f...

Re: Best venue for a 1st time Newby Hillclimber?

Sounds good! As soon as I have the car firmly back in my hands (just went to the body shop), I'll start making plans for the season. I'm looking forward to this. Thanks!

Re: Best venue for a 1st time Newby Hillclimber?

Thanks for the replies everyone, it's very much appreciated. I'll do my research and plan on attending Okemo 1 and or 2 this year. I'm also considering Ascutney, since those two hills are closest drive from RI. I'll check into which allow overnight camping, etc, and sign up in May, once the car is b...

Re: Helmet age

I have a full face M-2000 helmet that's like brand new. Are M-series helmets not allowed in this Hillclimb series? I don't think I'll have the cash for a new SA series helmet + entry fees in time for Okemo in July. I was also hoping to avoid purchase of a new SA helmet until the new SA-2010 items co...

Re: IRS for project

If you go the Subaru route, don't waste your time with a WRX (R160) diff.. It is only marginally better than no diff at all (that's why I have a KAZZ 1.5 LSD on order for mine). The STI drivetrain would be a better choice, the R180 rear diff has a better LSD and the diff housing is slightly larger. ...
