Re: My '86 GTI build
I know that some road race cars run a 2psi residual valve to prevent pad knock-back from bouncing over curbs + rumble strips. Which is probably equal to bouncing up Ascutney. I'm betting that the stock load leveling proporting valve doesn't go from 0% to 100%-it must do some restriction at all times...

Re: My '86 GTI build
Was or is the car a rear drum car? I just found out something by accident last week on my street car. While having to replace a rotted brake line, I ended up eliminating the weight sensing proportioning valve on the real axle. Afterwards I couldn't get the pedal from being to long. If you hit it a c...

Re: Happy Birthday to me (280z build)
I thought there was some rule prohibiting certain engine swaps in SP...e.g. not allowing a Mazda or Chevy swap into a Nissan, but I cant find one, only a statement about how cars with engine swaps would be classed to where they are competitive. I would say the classification approach would begin by...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxg81qGgV-8 Make your last run of the season a good one-its the one you have to remember for the next 7 months. ;) In this case it was my best run ever. :D Best time prior was 9? years ago. And that was a stupid red mist run I swore I'll never do again. :o After a re...

Re: Taking the plunge, 13 BRZ
If you ever need Toyota or other LSD parts, here is a great a place I've dealt with. http://weirperformance.com/
I have a strange mash up of various Toyota parts in my LSD-he was able to come up with a rebuild kit + other parts I needed.

Re: Howe Mod Heavy
Note, the broken spring retainer was on the R/H head, the piece of keeper pictured was found on the L/H head........... Whaaaaat? That is what I will call a phenomenon. Naaa-I've seen it a few times. It used to be a normal thing that you glued screens in your oil return holes to catch any d...

Re: Howe Mod Heavy
The idea of the beehive spring is that you dont need as much spring when the cam first starts to open the valve. The smaller end of the spring offers less resisitance. Maybe you can eek out a few more rpm if everything else is maxed out. But with rocker studs-heavy valves + a fairly mild cam ( compa...
