VW help for a friend
VW people Is it normal for a '99 Jetta with a VR6 to crack oil pans very easily? My friend's daughter has cracked one and the local shop says this happens all the time. Does this sound right? I used one of my cheap tom mics and a small Tascam dr60 to get some decent audio. I'm fairly pleased with the res...

Re: The Breakup (Miata build)
For lodging at Okemo, I just set up my tent in the parking lot. Beware of the street lights, they make the inside of a tent pretty bright. Last year I set up in the shadow of Sherman's bus. If you're using your hammock, there are plenty of trees around the perimeter of the lot or maybe you can rent ...

Re: Modifying a roll hoop
The weld bead is at least 2X the tubing thickness and is near the intersection with the driver-side back-stay.

Re: Modifying a roll hoop
Are you going with a new main hoop? No, I cut the hoop and had a professional welder reconnect it. My cage isn't complete enough to meet NEHA cage rules (and I don't have a fire suit) so I'm still an X-car. I'm hoping you and Don will decide the modifications are acceptable for an X-car that doesn'...
