Re: FS: Race car / Mod Heavy #15
You could get an exact cost from Kevin. Prices may have changed since he purchased them. He could give you the exact tire numbers, then email or call Hoosier Tire Distributor for current pricing. He uses wider tires than I do. I have 27x13x15 on the rears and, if I purchased fronts, I'd probably get...

Re: FS: Race car / Mod Heavy #15
About $300.00. I have several friends who race dirt track modifieds and late models. They basically give me their used/take-off tires. Tread life is short, about two to three hill climbs, but for the price, the tires can't be beat. Kevin's tires are brand new, with a very sticky compound. # 15 would...

Re: Chris Economacki passes
Thanks for the notice, John. Met Chris in Daytona one year and spent about a half-an-hour with him talking about when the midgets raced the Rutland Fair Grounds on that half mile dirt track. Both he and Ken Squire communicated with fans as though they were next door neighbors.

Re: Ginetta at Okemo, et al
Ed, I think we spoke a couple of years ago at Okemo and you mentioned that you had the Ginetta. I do remember the car competing at Okemo and it did quite well. It ran with the small block Corvettes. At the time, I was running a 67 Vette with a 327 C.I., 350 h.p. It was always a good match and I thin...

Re: Camping
John,
That has changed. For the last couple of years, I've been able to reserve my spot in the campground for two nights although, I make my reservation with the Depart. of Forrest Parks directly.

Video ad for the 2013 Grand Prix of NY
Go to either the NY Times web site and click on the Auto section or, to Red Bull Racing on U-Tube to watch a 3 min. video of their Formula I car going 190 mph in the Tunnel. Not as dramatic as the Ken Block video but still real cool.

Re: Ascutney II Length Change
Drew, An excellent response to a number of concerns expressed earlier in this thread. Having driven and worked many Ascutney hillclimbs over the years, I understand completly the number of variables that need to be taken into consideration when chairing this event. In fact, I think you and I co-chai...

Re: Scrappy-the Subaru
Walter,
I ran Ascutney back in the 70s. If I remember correctly, we only ran the short course. I think we started running the long course at some point in the late 90s or early 2000.

Re: Congrads to Pikes Peak Competitors
Found it, thanks Seth. Having run Pikes Peak twice and, having worked as a Highway Ranger on that Mountain, I know exactly where they went off. They are very lucky to be alive and relatively well. One of them was air lifted to the hospital and the other was taken by ambulance. Kudos to the cage buil...
