Re: How to lose your house- and perhaps your mind

John I'll call you. I can help moving stuff. Some of that stuff I know is big and heavy so we'll need some other people. It will take two people just to move that transmission from your race car. :-)

Re: NEHA Laptop

Still setting up misc software like pdf printer and pdf viewer. But it all seems to be working.

Thank you Jesse for donating these laptops. I added the change we talked about where the clocks run slower for you. Unless of course you are running an X car then it won't break out.

Re: NEHA Laptop

Yeah if I switched to a real database but what I'm using I don't think supports any style of backup while the system is running. I've done some more research on SD cards and I don't see a reason they shouldn't work for what we want. Do you have any specific reasons you don't think it will work. Yes ...

Re: NEHA Laptop

SD flash is relatively volatile for storage, so if its possible, have the app save to the hdd and the sd card. Maybe im being a little overly cautious here, but im used to being concerned about the sixth 9 in availability (99.9999%) and try to have at least two failsafes for every critical system. ...

Re: NEHA Laptop

As an update I have both of the Thinkpad X61s models up and running. I threw in a 500 Gb hard drive in each that I had in a drawer and installed Win 7 32 bit. They both seem to run everything just fine and the screens work outside. Also really nice is that the hard drives will swap between the two a...

Also.... anyone want to take a crack at updating the classification worksheet (Excel file)? Currently, the 2015 link goes to the 2014 version, but I added a warning message to the spreadsheet. Steve I don't think anything actually changed on it. It doesn't seem to have any adjustments for rotary di...

Re: Drones at events....

I'm OK with it as long as reasonable precautions are taken. The drone shouldn't be over the road or at least not before the car gets to that point. I'm not worried about it being above me since even if it lost power I'm not still going to be under it when it hits the ground. But I don't like the ide...

Re: Setback on the Rotary Miata

Kelly says if you need help with plans when rebuilding let her know. The burnt hard drive made me extra glad of something I just did. About a month ago I installed a WiFi hard drive in the motorhome. Kelly and I backup to that in addition to local external drives. The idea was if the house burnt dow...

Re: Dennis Clan Shenanigans

Driving it at ascutney was very scary. The 10" slicks did NOT agree with the crown on the road. I think this was immediately after the bottom was repaved, and it tossed the car side to side. I love seeing the Dart run. I bet it is a handful at Ascutney. The Troyer with wider slicks hates it to...
