I was tellling Jamie/Kiwi/#317 at Ascutney that he had inadvertently taken up the karma of an old dirt-tracker from Charlestown (NH), Frankie Blake. Frankie was my friend Budd Blair's stepdad - and, as those of you who are familiar with Charlestown can understand, one of the many local carachters/wildmen. I'll be posting more of his story here as I dig stuff up, but I heard a great quote yesterday, while "up home" doing bidness at the junkyard.
I was talking racing with Brian Morway, who told me "I miss Frankie. You'd say goodbye, and he'd say "Goodbyes are forever- I'll see you later!"

Found an OLD picture of Frankie, from the flathead days - on Bill Ladabouche's excellent (but not error-free) Vermont racing history website.
