Searching stuff on Okemo, Wachusett mtn popped up. I've always known of this ski hill but haven't been there. A quick google map search shows a paved road up the mountain that doesn't appear to have residences. Works its way to the peak, then loops back down to reconnect with the up road, sort of like philo. The climb would be about 2 miles.
That being said, the google map looks like that had some rain/erosion damage.
Anybody ever been up this road? Suitable for one of our events? Do we have any history with contacting them previously?
I'd be happy to look into it, if we haven't looked into it in our past.
They do have a road bicycle hillclimb scheduled for this year.

It's about 2 miles is you take the counterclockwise route up the mountain.

I had a ski race here many moons ago, its a nice area. The ski hill/mountain isnt as large as Okemo but 2 miles is all we need! Not sure about the road surface or condition!

Been snowboarding there plenty of times... And we drive by it on the way to Ascutney and Okemo. I would be in full support of an event there

Think could get video of the hill on your drive by to the next event? Providing you aren't towing something. Google maps can only do so much.

Interesting angle, but this gives you an idea of the road (skip to ~40 sec)
Next time I drive by without a trailer I will definitely take a ride up the road. Never knew there was one up Wachusett.

Google makes it look like they had some road issues, and new pavement for 2011 sort of jives with that. Video confirms it is a one way loop like philo after the split and two way near the bottom.

While Burke to is happening I will be dropping Kate off at WPI. I am pretty sure the mountain is on my way. I'll bring the go pro.

Seth,
Did my graduate degrees at Assumption College in Worcester, MA. Passed by Mt. W. a number of times and, drove the road several times. It was quite rough back then (1967) but was challenging.
Also, just received my August issue of Grass Roots Motorsports issue and lo and behold, you and your son are featured on page 24 under the title, "Hot Builds". Congrads.
