Ascutney #1 (2014) Photo, video, and summary thread

Post by Rabbit Farmer »

Post up your photos, videos, and thoughts here!

Thank you to SCCNH for a great hillclimb (great weather also, but me thinks SCCNH didn't have much influence on the weather)!

We had a great time and look fwd to the next hillclimb.

I took a lot of photos from CP 3 on Saturday and CP 9 on Sunday; in addition to my in-car video.

I will post up (hopefully) later tonight.

Planning to install new axle (driver's side half-shaft) that I broke at the bridge (CP 7) on Sunday. These are Drive Shaft Shop 400HP axles.... I might need a stronger axle to account for the bumps (wheel gets light and then lands causing more stress). We will see. Broke two axles at Ascutney in the past two years.

While Steve generously worked CP 3 (I think), he also took one of my cameras and got a little footage of every car (except mine). If anyone would like that clip, wait a couple days so I can get my server accessible or PM your car number and a brief description of what I'd be looking for to identify it (El Jamino is pretty descriptive, but if you say 'The VW Golf" I'm going to have some difficulty finding the right car).

Many Thanks to all the workers, volunteers, and the drivers for making the weekend a success. The event could not have happened if people did not step up and help out. This marks my 43rd year of being at hill climbs and in motorsports, I am still amazed at how willing people are to help out and make things happen. You are what makes this sport much more than just racing cars.

Thanks again to all those involved, and a special thanks to Erik and Vanessa for taking on the organizational duties.

Hope to see you at Okemo (if the Washington car is ready!!!!)

later,

Drew

In-car from my one timed run Sunday. (I added some instrument stuff via DashWare)

The older I get the better I was.

I've FINALLY finished configuring my server, and we have a place to store 10TB worth of media for the season (so far, I can upgrade that quite a bit as time goes on). I'd like to donate as much of that storage as necessary to be able to organize NEHA photos/videos.

For now, everyone here has access to upload/download. You'll get a security warning, which you can safely ignore - I'll fix that as soon as I hear back from my SSL vendor. Please respect the folder structure and do your best to upload under 'Shared' and organize by event/car#

If you would like your own account (I highly recommend it), send me a message with your email and I'll get you set up with that.

DISCLAIMER
If you decide to share your media here, it is open to the rest of the NEHA community. By uploading, you give your permission to use that media however they would like.

I am working on my video from Ascutney....

Does anyone have track-side video or photos of my car?

(green VW Golf IV, American flag on the roof, loose nut behind the wheel).

Thanks
Steve
