Burke I special notes-please read!

Hello everyone-this is your captian speaking. We are going to have to clear a couple of hurdles this weekend to make the hill work. I'm sure we can pull together to do so.
Parking: There is construction going on as Burke expands. This has left the upper parking lot full of equipment. We are working with the new campground manager to come up with a solution. She is aware that there will be a couple of campers needing space close by-but most of us unload our cars at our camp-and then just need somewhere to park our trailers until Sunday afternoon. I'll be up there Thurs to be sure of what we have to do. I'll put up signs to direct everyone where to go. Stay tuned..

Saturday run time: Due to a scheduling error, ( ) we have to share the hill with a wedding. Meaning we have to be done by 2:30. We have permission to start early. 7:30. Working out a lunch solution to best fit the short time. But one thing is certian: we need to have our butts in gear EARLY! Our record fam run roll out is 7:50-it can be done. So you can gripe about getting up early-or gripe we didn't get enough runs-your choice. We'll be done by 2:30-you can take a nap. ;)

Set up help needed: We need someone who can commit themselves -preferibly with a pick up-to help do the wire Friday morning. Walt needs a few hours to put new drops in-so the wire has to down early. Also the nomal signs-equip. etc set up. Reply if you can please.

Thanks all!
Sherman 'the chair pulling out my hair' B.

I won't be up till late Friday night, and my truck probably won't like going up and down the mountain, but I can run equipment up in the Neon or with someone else Saturday morning

I don't know if this would help but I'm, like, 10 minutes from the hill and have plenty of space for trailers.
Just FYI if needed.

I plan to start installing the Burke checkpoint drops as soon as the wire starts to go down Friday. Paul was a GREAT help getting the drops installed at Okemo. So Paul, if you are available again and can help that would be terrific.

Once the wire is down and I have the added checkpoint drops in place, if there is time, I want to lay out the unused-at-Burke part (from the Okemo check 7 drop to end of the wire) in the upper Burke lot to find and repair any additional damage caused by the street sweeper at Okemo. Paul replaced a lot of the damaged sections right after the wire was torn up, but there was still a weak signal issue issue at the Okemo Finish and the holding drops on the wire's end after the badly damaged parts were replaced so I need to spend some time either now or at the next Okemo finding and correcting any additional damage.

I'll do my best to be there on Friday early to help. When I was there last week, our normal parking area was clear, but the lower tier had a lot of stuff.

I was planning on camping in my trailer, let me know if that can't be an option anymore. Also if there is a new remote location for trailers/campers, can we drive from there with non-registered cars (if not where can we leave our non-registered cars?).

This was an issue even with the old location. I always had to unload the car in the campground and then take the trailer up to the lot. Although this time I may try jamming the motorhome and the trailer into my site. People with cars that are unregistered but look mostly street legal often unload in the upper lot and drive down the road. In theory this is illegal but as long as the car looks street legal and you don't happen to meet a cop in the short trip you're good.

You can leave the car in the campground-as long as its not blocking someones space. (we're all good about moving things around.) I'll get back to you ASAP about camping. As far as driving on the road-your call-but the only time that I know of that the 1 cop in a 30 miles radius has been around while we were racing was to check us out + hang around. ( remember the constable with the Escort wagon? Used to fall asleep around the campfire?) :) It IS a dead end dirt road far from town.

Evan-Outstanding! Thank You! Can you do 10:30 or so?

One more thing- if someone has minimal space requirements, how would you feel about pairing up with someone similar? We are pretty much out of campground-if just have a car + a tent + dont mind splitting the cost for your site with someone--it might make it so someone else can camp.

I'll be there at 10:00. What or do I need to bring anything?
