Burke road info

Post by W.Vaillancourt »

I was wondering if anyone had some info on the mountain such as length, elevation change number of turns. I am trying to do a write up about this weekends race. Thanks in advance! :D

Cycling sites have a lot of good info, like this:

Image

Our start is at the 2 mile point on the above graph.

To quote from their web site: "Around the 2.5 mile mark, you hit a half mile of 18% grade! This really hurts and you think it’s never going to end. The toll road is only 2.7 miles of the 4.7 mile climb, but this 2.7 miles averages 13-15% grade." Of course "2.5 mile mark" equates to .5 miles from our start, or just past check 2 where the road gets very steep up just past check 3.

Our own road map is at: http://www.hillclimb.org/events/burke/b ... ad-map.jpg It has checkpoints and turns listed.
The older I get the better I was.

On the page where the entry is posted is a map of the hill that includes the corner and checkpoint numbers (thanks to Walter)

The map showing corners and checkpoints in cool. The location of check 2 is incorrect. It should be farther up the hill in the big opening just as the corner ends.
