Kevin: Don't worry, your 121 mph speed record is safe from me.

I am normally flat out in 5th over the jump at check one...
I can only imagine what some of the other cars are like. I haven't even used 4th yet.
I was in 4th up to the jump but was too chicken to take it at speed, I would shift down to third before the crest but kept tailing out when I tried to put any power down after the jump, probably should have just left it in 4th. It was a good indication that my car needs more weight in tge rear, both aerodynamic and physical.

I would not interpret your car's actions at Check 1/T7 that way...... First, with a spool, the rear tires steer the car as much as the fronts. Second, your car does'nt have it's weight fully back on the tires 'til the entry of T8, Third, a downshift (or big lift) is not the thing to do right before the car gets light, especially in a car with strong engine braking and/or low inertia driveline.

IMHO, the best approach to Cfheck 1 is to concentrate on doing most of the turning before the crest, so that the car will land relatively straight, and lift only enough to not spin the wheels much over ground speed. My preferred "runway" is a little right of center - more to the right, and you can go faster over the crest, but the crest is sharper there, and the combination of speed and more air makes the entry to T8 "interesting" (ahem..)

For the record, my T7 crash continued through T8 and T9 into the entry to T10.
