I just signed up to work (and my girlfriend will join us, which is pretty exciting for me). Do I need to call the campground to reserve a camping site? Looking for one with enough sturdy trees for a pair of hammocks, #8 looks nice on the map?

Steve (RabbitFarmer) is in charge of camping. I am sure campsite #8 is open. If Steve does not respond to you by the end of today on this forum he can be reached at: SCCVermont@aol.com

Here is some more info on campsite and the event in general: http://forums.sccv.org/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4045

Thanks much, I was just looking at the sccv site as 'one more login' out on the internet somewhere. You've saved me a lot of trouble.

Works fine for me, as long as there are some trees.

Jesse, it can be awfully chilly camping at Philo. Make sure to plan accordingly. Wives and girlfriends don't always appreciate that.....so I wanted to make sure you are well prepared. Nothing kills a hillclimb career quite like having a significant other who isn't on board. ;)

Totally understood, I feel like we're very well prepared. This is our first cold-weather hammock trip, but we have great bags, tarps, and underquilts. I think we'll be ok, and if we aren't ... at least we were adequately forewarned.
