Their forum is slow this time of year like ours-sign up + ask on there. Probably more sane info than from us front engine people.
But first things first-you got to get it on some scales. Hard to know where you're going if you don't know where you are.
Thanks, I'll check it out. See if I can get a direction or starting point.
I'd love to get it on some scales, problem I don't have any, yet... not for a while at least.
I'll ask around some folk around here take the circle pretty serious.

That's pretty much what I'm after. The suspension was soft and it felt OK but it was too soft according the bump stops.
I think I'm going to step it up slowly to find whats becoming too stiff not the other way.

No help, but i think my point is take folks advice with similar set ups, but also be prepared to give 'em a try and see what makes you feel most comfortable..which will make you fastest too.
It's helpful, I take all the info I can get into account. The dual spring thing might be something I'll try eventually. The spring I was supplied with are short as hell.
I guess the pavement in Cali is way smoother..... Anyway so I have the lower spring cup all the way up and the car is just at 4" ground clearance, I like 5.
So well see.

I have to catch up, a lot, to where I'm at now from where I was. Winter of 2015.
The first season with the car was great but I noticed I had to lift my feet up to reach the pad on the peddles.
Not a lot, just an 1" or so, but it got annoying. I don't need to be footen around finding the peddles or thinking about that crap.
I needed a heel rest and to raise my feet up so they were right there. Right there.
The mod proved itself at Ascutney, felt awesome.

Not a new idea, I've seen it around, but a great one. What a difference!

Boom.

How I figured kind of where I wanted things.

Quick sketch of the concept.

Getting all the angels down. The good party(party....PART!) was going off the frame with a square. It made things a lot easier.
Image

Test fit. 1 2 1 2. Checka.

Tacked.
(Now the pictures show cups for the heels. I removed these the night before Ascutney in may.
Something made me nervous about em, so off they went, glad I took em off too.
So please disregard the heel cups or whatever you would like to call them.)

Am I insane? Yes.
Are you insane? Yes. So we're even.
I figured, what the hell? I like to drill holes and there is to much metal in there.

I just realized I didn't have a photo of it welded in all finished an crap.
So here it is again but now it's all welded, painted white and without the hell cup things an crap... use you imagination. :)

Night. I'm going in to watch some Colombo.

I like that, looks clean and simple.
My fear was the edges of the cups that I made digging into my heel in the event of an accident.
Common sense tells me to have NOTHING, or as close as I can get to nothing, that can cut me within reach. Like a stiff edge of steel...
The way your Scirocco is set up is nice, light weight too, also to have the floor board up high enough to do that is key it seems.
You've run the car, right? Do you like em?
I notice the brake peddle is widened toward the clutch. Are they lowered too?

I have only autocrossed the car once.... it is waiting for me to get it back in shape for the hillclimbs.

I did not really notice the cups (nothing negative to say about them). I do not believe that they had any affect for an autocross, but I would expect that I will like them for track/hillclimbs (accelerating and straight braking... instead of all that wacky autocross stuff).

Unsure if the pedals are lower. I might have to wear bigger shoes.

I was going to ask the same question. I know in my A2 chassis, once the carpet/pad/soundproofing was removed, the pedals (at least the brake and clutch) were a little too high. I added a heel rest a little like Evans. When I switched out the pedals I lowered the brake and clutch a little and eliminated the heel rest.

every-time I find The time to update the story and I ain't paying $400.00 a year to do so.... Kind of kills the motivation... I'm not totally tech but kind of tech, what ya'll got.

Thanks, Evan.
