New to the NEHC, however I did visit Okemo a few years back. I am preparing a PEV and have been going through the rules. It is modeled after the 1903 Baker electric racer the Torpedo Kid. The basics : wheel base is 6'-6" ,track 48", overall length of carbon fiber body is 12', weight about 690 lbs. Currently have a 48 volt 100 amp hour lithium battery pack with a HPEVS AC 20 motor. The roll bar is a 4 point of 1-1/2" .095 DOM and a 6 point harness. Kirkey seat with head rest. I seem to be on track with the electric requirements outlined in the rules. Wondering what is the best process to go through the review in more detail, on this forum? include photos or bring the car to someone? any insights appreciated.

Posting photos here or on the NEHA hillclimb page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/neha1/) would certainly be a good start. I don't believe we have yet had any full electric cars at a NEHA event, and I'm under the impression we loosely followed Pikes Peak rules. General safety rules apply to all cars as far as cage construction. A 4 point roll bar will not be enough to be considered a cage, we require a minimum of 6 point cage. That said, I can't speak to whether or not a home built chassis with a proper roll bar (but not cage) would be allowed to run under the breakout rule.

Thanks I will place a few photos on the neha1 Facebook site , I believe my roll bar tube size is fine as I went up to the under 2500 pound requirement. Will have to see what comments come in and get to work.

Don Taylor, who has been interacting with you on the facebook post, is our Tech guide. Every car is inspected by him at every hillclimb event we have.
