I'm really hoping it's a CV/Driveshaft.

Yeah I didn't want to risk further damage from driving it, plus my favorite mechanic is an hour away

2009 may be the last time the Acura sees the track, I want to pick up something just for racing and leave the RSX for daily duty.

The verdict is in: Wheel bearing.

The race holding the bearings cracked, which explains all the horrible noises but also made it harder for them to remove.

Good to hear that the repair will be a lot cheaper than the alternative (i.e. a transmission)

Unfortunately they ordered the part from a local supplier, so I ended up paying $135 just for the bearing...

If I had known I would need a bearing I could buy one on RockAuto.com for $40, which I will now do just to have some extras on hand, the right front is sounding like it will need to be replaced in the near future.

Many inde shops have a labor $ policy that make it almost impossible to come out cheaper by bringing your own parts to the repair so dont feel bad.
