Vehicle Mounted Tow Hooks vs Tow Straps

Post by skimobile »

I have a metal tow hook on the rear of the WRX and was going to install a two strap in front.
Is a front tow strap acceptable for the hillclimb series or is a metal tow hook required for front as well?
If any of the techs can please reply, I'd appreciate it. I need to order the parts and want to get the correct item.
Thanks!

We dont require a tow hook or strap. Not a bad idea mind you, for a flat tow if you just stop or break but we will not try to extract a car using that. First most cant bear the weight of the car and second one attachment doesnt give us enough control over the extraction. We normally go to suspension points under the car to extract or to use the hook and chain (sling) if one end needs to be lifted to tow.
The older I get the better I was.
