What's my number?

Kind of a reminder, kind of a proposal...
Currently, many of the numbers in the series fall outside the current rule. Can we come up with language to stay with 2 0r 3 digit #'s , or #/letter combinations? we should probably say something about registry of #'s for other clubs who we share venues with - like Max's RallyBikes, or our
new Rally America teams.
I'd obviously like Kevin's Input, as well as other folks affected - like registration, or anyone who would have to change #'s to comply with this proposal.

John.

Are you talking about a rule to control the number of numbers (2 or 3 digits) and the number of numbers with number of letters (2-3 digits with a letter)?

(yep, that was sooo much clearer)

From a registration point of view, this doesn't matter. I would say that the limitation would be the timing software, the results printout, and the number of digits that could actually fit on a side of the car.

Not to mention the corner workers and control.
"Car # 43h55k821 by 4!!"

+ 1 !

3 character max, 1 letter (max) when combined w/ 2 numbers ?

Also, (2 cents dept) enforcing or re-visiting the existing rule about size of numbers (and contrast) would be a big help to checkpoint workers...

There goes my idea of using my ZIP code for my car number next year.

I like the idea of three characters max. and allowing for one letter (inluded in the three).

Maybe reserve R32 now while it's still available?

I like 702... combination of my birthday and Julie's... her number (101) is our [2nd] wedding date.

A bit of a tangent. Offered thoughts. Is this something that warrants a rule change or general conversation/thinking out loud?

Current rule is 2 digit only. Like you, I've run 3 digits since the last ice age. And we say that we don't like single digits, 'cuz they can be confused with checkpoint numbers.
