That was Seth's, but it is a good idea. Besides, the rationale for using labeled GVWR is that we dont have scales at hillclimbs so any question or protest involving weight would have to be resolved based on the GVWR on the door label minus the rated occupant allowance. Not perfect, as it can allow cheating and ringers, but fair among honest folk.

The rule makes perfect sense. I got the 2393 lb from the Kelly Blue Book web site.

The reason I'm most interested in S5 is because there are more season-long competitors. In 2012, S4 seemed to be more hit and miss, entry-wise.

My other thought is that I may learn faster by having consistent, quick competitors like #72 & #174.

Seth was right. The door says 2835 lbs, making the factor almost exactly 1.0. Looks like it's S5 for us.

Don't count the #72 in as a long season competitor this year, in S5. The silver S2K is in build mode for version 2.0, i.e sights on Pikes Peak next year, the black S2K may have the cob webs blown off of it but it will be in "U" class if it is run. Upon the silver cars return, it will likely be in a higher "SP" class or "P", end of this season at the earliest. Had too much fun on the sleds over the winter, spent every free moment riding.

Good luck on the upgrade. I was guessing #395 would be the first of several NEHA'ers to go to Pikes.

I'm betting it will be a while before I keep up with you in U5.
