Exotic Mopar #2 - King of the Hill 340

Post by Mopar 151 »

I would not consider selling this under normal circumstances, but times are tough and I'm too broke to pay attention! :(
For Sale or trade: :ugeek: My championship winning 340 Chrysler engine ('89,'90) (not my current W-2 engine). :o
Block: '72 block, bored .030, "choke" honed (cylinders .001 smaller at the top). Oiling system extensively modified - Hyd. lifter oiling "tubed" (must use solids), oil passages to mains reamed o/s. Block machined for remote oil filter, for wet or dry sump (can be converted back to stock), correct connection for Oil accumulator (aka Accusump).
Rest of oil system: Melling HV pump (80 psi releif), custom pickup. Road Race style wet sump pan (built with Moroso kit)with skid plate, sight tube for oil level, perforated windage tray, windage baffle for lifter valley, HD oil pump shaft
Cylinder heads: "J" castings, 1.88/1.60 valves, backcut. Hardened locks, stock retainers, TRW performance valve springs. Port matched and bowl ported, ports fully finished ("full port and polish"). sealed inside with chromate primer. Iron "273" rockers, fully adjustable, "273" pushrods. valve cover studs. New head bolts included.
Pistons - 10.5/1 compression, standard early(hi-compression) 340, Speed Pro forged, floating pins, valve releifs cleaned up.
Rods: forged stock 340, ARP bolts, resized and set balanced by Hughes.
Crankshafts: forged or cast available - both need repairs. Balancers available for either. Forged is 318 truck crank, balanced to pistons and stock rods - has been hard chromed (by Crankshaft Specialist in Memphis), needs rear main redone. Cast is reground, 1 or 2 mains hurt. New cranks are now available for reasonable $$$
Timing set: Stock 340 double roller, new chains available cheep. repairable Carter NASCAR fuel pump (crack at fitting, can be dissassembled for repair).
Cam and Lifters: Cam Techniques, .498 lift, 244 dur. 114 l/c. Chrysler stock solid lifters - new with cam, kept in order.
Intake: Edelbrock Torker 340 single-plane (works best with 2", 4 hole spacer, 750 d/p carb) Also have 2 stock 4bbl intakes - bring a truck, don't drop 'em on your foot!
Distributor: Mallory old style dual point, curved by Rusty, includes solid wires
Covers: Chrome steel valve covers with oil seperators, timing cover vented
THE DEAL: $1500 CASH, $2000 BARTER=. TRADES WITH A CHANCE INCLUDE A GOOD COMMUTER CAR, Bridgeport mill, insulation work for partial trade
