1980 Rabbit Hillclimber

Post by jstev162@gmail.com »

Time to part with a pile of fun, my 1980 Rabbit. Late '83 1.8 motor & 5 sp. gearbox, Crane track cam (2600 - 6700 rpm power band), balanced, 16-Valve pistons cut to 12.5:1, clearanced, oil cooler, Sachs comp. clutch. Cage, 5 point belts. Kirkey alumunum seat, 2" exhaust (4 into 2 cast iron, Euro downpipe, glasspack), B&B springs, stiff susp. bushings. No rust, stored indoors. Been stone reliable. Also spares including Crane autocross cam, big bore throttle body, complete CIS injection distributor/ metering box.
Needs TLC to bring back to life (clean injectors, drain & refill gas, battery, update harness & a couple of welds to reinforce front horns to firewall/floorpan. Not rusted, just popped spotwelds. (Burke took its toll over the years) Also 2 axle trailer, steel mesh deck, ramps, tool box, elec. brakes. Also needs TLC & could use tires.
No idea on what to ask for it all, reasonable offer will take it all. Need to have it out before snow flies.

Yup, can't keep the reflexes forever either. Time to move on while the memories are still all good.
