Ford Cortinas For Sale

Post by PRODOG »

If you or anyone you know likes English Fords --- here's a deal for you (or them)!

I have 2 Mark 1 Ford Cortinas for sale - both 2 doors!

1966 is mostly rust free - has a very solid chassis, underbody, doors, quarters, most of floors, etc --- this car has complete drive line in it and most of the interior, all glass and alloy wheels. Has not been run in many years but the engine does turn over. It is a 1500 Kent Block with 4 speed behind it.

1967 Cortina GT - rusted parts car -- does not have engine or trans in it - the rear end is in the car - has all glass, gauges and most of interior but has been out doors for many years so unless you want a real restoration project it is a parts car.

Put the 2 together and you'd a have a really cool ride.

Take the pair for $750 --- or might trade for something interesting too.

Steve,

That is actually a Mark 2 -- The Mark 1 is more boxy like a 510 or 2002 --- If I were smart enough I'd post a picture but you know how that works. Feel free to do so if you'd like ----

Thanks,

Drew

Colin Chapman gave the Cortina some more power and better handling ---

The twin cam head, improved intake and exhaust along with a small cam upgrade made the engine come alive --- then they had a few iterations of suspension design (most notably the rear end) which made the car a screamer in saloon racing throughout Europe. If you look at the early Trans Am days Lotus Cortina's were formidable entries.

They were used a lot in rally racing as well in Europe --- notable entries included Jimmy Clark!

Enough babbling for now ---- I would love to find a Lotus version for reasonable money but then again I'd like to find a split window Vette too!
