2007 ducati 1098 superbike

Post by Challenger392 »

I really hate to part with her, but my racing addiction is growing and I can only have so many expensive summer weekend hobbies.

Up for sale is my 2007 Ducati 1098. Its all original, nothing has been added. It has about 5000 miles (barely broken in). It has NEVER been dropped, its in impeccable condition, almost showroom new. Never driven down back roads. Never wheelied hard. Always stored in a heated basement.
For those who aren't familiar with this bike, the 1098 is quite the bike. Its non ordinary Japanese rice rocket. Its not a 4 cylinder its an 1100cc, 4 valve per cylinder, v-twin. The valve train is mechanically actuated, meaning there are no valve springs. This combined with its very large bore (106mm) and short stroke (60mm) allow it to rev to around 11,000 rpm. This produces a combination of low end v-twin torque (90 lb ft) and high end horsepower (160hp). All in a light weight (381lb dry) package make for a wicked fast bike. The 1098 has a singe sided swing arm which is both light weight and great looking. It uses magnesium on the engine and upper frame to save weight and lower the cg. On the road it will go far faster than you ever need to. 1st gear will get you arrested on all but the interstate. 2nd and 3rd are just trouble.
Enough rambling, I'm selling because I need to fund my hill climb bug, I'd love to keep the bike and race too but I can't afford that right now. Sale price is book price, $9750. The bike is well worth it and come spring when prices go up I'll get more for it anyways. The rear tire is worn out but I will include a new rear that just needs to be mounted and balanced. Also included will be a rear tire stand and a battery tender. If interested or if you known anyone who is, here is my contact info.
