Wrenches and mind for rent
Re: Wrenches and mind for rent
Yes - but not the best at it, and never will be. Other than that, I do pretty well with fabrication and machining, and learned proper techniques for weld prep, fit-up, and tacking from some very skilled professional welders.

You need a welder, which isn't exactly me - but make sure whoever does it, that you get the wheel speed sensor out of the way before it gets zorched

Too funny... I'm trying to figure out how to mount the bracket to my front brakes also. No kits out there for a VW... if I owned a Mustang, I would have countless options, kits, etc.

Re: Wrenches and mind for rent
Well the photos I posted are a DC5 so that's exactly what I need for the job. It was a one-off though and the guy who made it isn't looking to make anymore in the near future. He also has the roll center adjusters, which are a tasty piece as well.
I'm sure some time spent staring at your Dub would net similar success.

I've seen people hack up there brake splash shield to make a break cooling duct, assuming you still have yours somewhere, it might be a good start.Rabbit Farmer wrote:Too funny... I don't remember it ever having the backing plate (splash shield).

Booking for April, CNC machine work available
Currently, my trade is still sucking pond water. I have a couple things going for Kevin & Drew in the next couple weeks. Also, my neighbor Dave Labrecque at KDL Mold has some open machne time currently - manual lathe and bridgeport, and a "Freyer" toolroom CNC mill with Anilam controls and Mastercam programming. Dave does some pretty intricate mold work, along with the usual repair work that comes with living in Barnstead - and has automation experience as well, both in his shop and working with me at Crathern.
