It intrigues me how we go from safety equipment to a system of measuring fun factor. :D I do have one more safety related question then you can feel free to follow this rabbit trail of a conversation where ever it goes. My question is, do I need SFI or FIA shoes if I am wearing fire retardant socks? I already have a couple sets of Puma "driving" shoes that would save me $100 if I could just use those. They are just a simple suede shoe with a rubber sole, any reason I couldn't just use those?

As long as they aren't nylon, high heel, platform or open toed they are legal by the rules for all classes.

Good to know, thank you. That will save me some cash. (More for fuel)
