harness requirement
harness requirement
I am planning on running my first hillclimb at Ascutney next month as an Unprepared car. In reviewing the rules/requirements I noted that "Y-type harnesses" are not allowed. Is that a regular stock seat belt? I have a Schroth 3-point harness. Is that acceptable?

Re: harness requirement
The "Y" type harness is an older variant of racing harnesses that has a sewn "Y" connection, with a single belt running back to the mounting point. I can't find a currently produced example - If this is a current example of a "Scroth 3-point", or it is the old style sewn "3-point" Y-harness with no sub belt, we really don't like it. This one does'nt cut it , as it is not SFI or FIA approved, and has no sub belt. I don't know how Tech is gonna feel about that compared to a stock 3- point, but I'm pretty sure It would'nt be considered superior.
Re: harness requirement
The photo of the Schroth harness is the one I have. If this is unacceptable, is the stock seat belt OK? if not, what kind of harness do I need? Thanks for the information.

Stock is Ok.
