Saw this on the GRM Forum. First thought I had when I saw the subject was how did someone get an Insight to go 180MPH? Second one was why would anyone want to?
First question answered...somethings not stock. Second one...not so much.
Dang! This is a testament to the importance and effectiveness of proper safety equipment.

I think Sherm may know this guy - He's mentioned an Insight speed trial car before.
The ABC News Overnite bimbo deserves a slap for her comments (How could anyone be so stupid, to try driving 200 mph? , IIRC) The ABC morning news was much nicer, had a short interview & shots of the car behind (Gillespie's?) shop,

A different guy with an Insight than my buddy-but I got an email from him as soon as this one stopped tumbling. Drivers fine-the cage held fine. (The LSR got serious cage rules once you start getting that fast. ) This one had the same arrangment as my friends--very turbo'd VTEC-500-600hp range. This one lost traction running in the dirt at El Mirage dry lakes. My friend's (Bob Wanner) comment: "Moral, better on pavement than Dirt....."
