drift cars are going to do ascutney again? That is pretty cool. I saw there is a spot for them to register on the form.

are they going to actually race or try to drift again?

Ascutney isnt really the best place to drift...

Ryan is planning on being there, and he will be drifting if conditions allow. Ryan and I have worked out a system with SCCNH where if any drifter wants to participate at any SCCNH sanctioned hillclimb, they will need to be approved first. This will prevent any unnecessary incidents with drivers who may not have the appropriate skills or prepared vehicle to drift the NEHA hills. There are really only a few corners at Ascutney where you can drift. Two that jump out at me are 14 and 15 (Check 4). That's where he and Travis were drifting last year. The rest of the hill is just fun.

I'll be there, but not drifting. I'll be racing my 240sx again in the newly minted SP4. Should be fun.

While the drifting is neat. I'd love to see the two cars that were there last year go for a traditional non drift run up the hill. As horsepower doesn't seem to be issue for them, I'm just curious what kind of times the cars can produce.

If I recall, Travis tried a speed run up the hill. He clocked in at 3:23 I think. I bet with newer tires he could have gained a few more seconds.

Yeah, Travis was going for time, as opposed to drift, towards the end of the weekend. Car isn't setup to make the car accelerate in a straight line (wheels will accelerate, not the whole car), plus you have the whole handling aspect of the hill vs. a smooth drifting course. Looking forward to having the drift folks... always fun to watch.

That's the one. I have some good footage from last year from that location. I was "drifting" those turns in the fall.... because I had no rear grip :o I don't plan on a repeat performance this spring :)
