SB Ford GT40 alum heads?
Anyone know what models the aluminum GT40 heads for a 5.0L came on? I have looked at a bunch of sites and forums but it is not easy to put it all together. Thanks, Brian

Brian,
Trick question? None-there were strictly aftermarket. (like Chevy "bowtie" heads) The closest to coming on vehicle were "gt40 P" heads in some late Explorers-the heads were narrower + plugs at a funny angle according to my boss at the machine shop.

Oh. I thought Ford put them on something. The P head (from what I have found) has odd plug angle and depending on what it was in has emmission holes in diferent places.

GT-40 heads were OE on '93-'95 Mustang SVT Cobras, '93-'95 F-150 SVT Lightnings, '96-early '97 Explorers, early '97 Mountaineers, and some "marine" engines.

Is that the straight GT40 or the GT40-P heads?
Re: SB Ford GT40 alum heads?
I presume those are iron not aluminum.
Now heres the real question--since when do any Dennis's even know what a Ford is?

Since they found out how much Mopar castings weigh is what I'm thinkin'..... But all would be wise to heed the Word Of Drew : " I'd rather have leprosy than race with a T-5 transmission
