I have a new practice video for ascutney. I don't think I have been doing any of the turns right.drivingti wrote:

There was a wide variety of lines by check two on Sunday. Somewhat surprising actually.

Check two is a very late apex corner where you can actually carry a lot of speed if you apex properly and trackout to the very edge of the road. I think I downshift to 3rd (6-speed) and do 80% throttle through most of the corner (FWD won't let me completely floor it).sachilles wrote:There was a wide variety of lines by check two on Sunday. Fun corner once you get the hang of it.
Looks like the Dart does just that... darts all over the road. Was Josh riding the crown or staying in a lane? I found that with wide race tires, I had to stay on one side of the road or the other; crossing over the crown only when I needed to and holding on for dear life as it would instantly complete the land change once I got half way over the crown.

I followed the Dart a couple times and it appears to be what I called "directionally challenged". Must be a handful to wheel...Rabbit Farmer wrote:sachilles wrote: Looks like the Dart does just that... darts all over the road. Was Josh riding the crown or staying in a lane? The dart appeared to be a handful as it approached check two.
Definitely some late apex'd the corner trying to get extra grunt up the hill. The turn prior made it more difficult for some to make that happen. Some came close to ditch hooking while others were well wide(on the turn prior). There is also a two foot wide hump that seems somewhat new, and that added an extra thrill for some.
Kevin looked quite smooth through there.

Smooth is my only option. The car is so wide I can't even do Steve's plan of staying on one side or the other of the crown. I just try to be smooth and give the car minimal steering inputs since it tends to overreact. I also still don't have the course memorized. I get lost on the bottom in a few places. Unlike say Okemo or Burke that I can drive the whole course in my head.sachilles wrote:Kevin looked quite smooth through there.
