Workers for Okemo 2

Post by sharonroof »

Thanks to all who emailed me re working at Okemo 2 on either Saturday or Sunday, or both. Hope I hear from more of you. Your help is always appreciated. Was wondering if we have an extra drop to add to a new spot (3A). Seems there were a few spectators there (think a trail crosses at that spot). Walter?

Hope to have 3 workers for you, if everyone planning to go can make it. Maybe we can adopt a rule, that drops your time one second for each worker you bring?

We dont have any more headset boxes or headsets (the old ones will not work with the new ones) and if the wire is put down the same as it was last time, we wont have enough drop cords to reach everything we already have. I can bring a 9V powered speaker box and 6' wire like we used to use several headset iterations ago, and if I have time, put a drop at that location. I wont be able to do it if the wire is as late going up as last time - because of tech - and if the wire is once again as mis-positioned, who knows where the drop I install will end up in the future.

Perhaps, if there are enough workers, I could just station myself there. Thanks Walter!

i ordered material to make 3 more 80' drops today. If the stuff arrives here in time they will be available if needed at Okemo 2.

In the past we have not put caution tape in the ck 3 area but this time i think I give it a try. It wont stop them but they will be more aware that something is going on.

Sharon - I made up 3 more 85' drop extensions. So we should be able to do something regarding a "check 3A" and still have enough extensions for all checkpoints (and holding) that need them.

Robin and Kate are comming to work. Sorry about the late info, we have been touch and go about Robin being able to show up. She would prefer any checkpoint that a car can be parked at.
