Walter supplied and configured the WiFi gear and I did the software. Basically there is a very small, very simple web server running on the finish laptop. If you have a smart phone, i-Pod or some device that supports WiFi you can connect the the NEHA hotspot at holding and point your browser to "http://finish" Some browsers will just let you type in "finish" but some will require the "http://" prefix. You will see a log of finishes with the most recent finish at the top. The log is updated when we apply a time to the database. Often we don't apply the time until after we have checked the car by finish and sometimes later than that. So don't expect the time to show up for a car the instant it crosses finish. Usually it will be 10-15 seconds later and sometimes longer.sachilles wrote:Oh, and whoever worked on the project to get the NEHA repeater going, so you can have real time updates on times from the top of the hill via your smart phone. That is super mega cool! Thank you!
Also keep in mind these are unofficial times and subject to change. 99% of the time they are fine but sometimes we have some glitch or problem. So use some common sense. You probably shouldn't start bragging about setting a new hill record when a 30 second time shows up next to your number for Okemo.
