Good looking group of people

Post by Rabbit Farmer »

I have a lot of photos from Smokey that I am working to scan in and get back to him by Ascutney. I'm up to 80 photos so far, but wanted to share this one with you.

I can't remember everyone's name, but I recognize many of them.

And here are the rest of the photos (14 pages) from Smokey..... up until 1 AM last night scanning these in (took 4 nights in total):

Smokey's Hillclimb Photos

Also, if you haven't checked them out already, I have Sim's photos on the website under Photos/Videos, Photos. I plan to make galleries of some sort, but haven't figured out how I want to do that yet....

Thank you Smokey for saving (and digging up) all these great pics-and thank you Steve for posting them. Its great to see faces I reconize that have been doing this forever. I stress to to the rookies I give orentation to about how much rich history there is amoungst the clubs-and dont worry about 1 run-1 event or 1 year-this is a sport measured in seconds but remembered in decades.
My observations from looking at all the pics:
Tires were wider :D
drivers were skinnyer (and hairyer)
and trailers were junkyer :o

Where was the event that looked like you had a large flat chunk of land for start?
Translating road racing to hillclimbing:
Proper tire selection== nothing hooks up on moss or wet leaves.
Staying on the racing line==anything paved is considered good.

Falt land indeed! We caravaned down to the old Orange MA airpost for some 100 mph autocross with the old Yankee club.

Come on back, Brian. I don't think that we have a single Neon at the hillclimbs right now.
