Source car 2002 WRX wagon, Midnight Black Pearl. 160k miles in Vermont. Autocrossed fairly regularly for a couple of years.

Long story short, my daily driver 02 wrx wagon has rusted from the bottom up.
I'm taking the motor, ecu, wiring harness and dash for my race car. Pretty much every thing else is available.

Things you don't really want:
Subframes or suspension arms(rust bad enough that I took the car off the road). No amount of recall undercoating will fix them
A/C compressor, starting to fail
Rear bumper cover....backed into my trailer.

Things you can't have:
Motor
Wiring harness
ECU
Dash and instrument cluster(however air bags can be made available).
Exhaust

Things you can have:
3.9 transmission and or limited slip rear diff, you can come drive it this week if you want, provided you don't mind the risk of the rusted chassis. No known issues, but has been autocrossed.
All interior items. All show wear, nothing is show quality.
Body parts, anything that is removable.
Steering wheel
air bags.
Struts/springs. Gr2 rears. Well used.

99 2.5rs coupe stuff you can have:
Dash and instrument cluster. Dash has been cut for a roll cage.
ECU and wiring harness. Does not include the door harness, nor tail light section.
front strut tie bar, brand unknown.

Things I'd consider in trade:
4.11 5 speed manual transmission.
4.11 rear limited slip diff.
fixed back racing seat. Must be functional, dirty/ugly is ok.
15 inch subaru alloys
Rally tires suitable for 15 inch alloys
4 pot wrx brake calipers
Chevy light truck allow rims with 5x5 bolt pattern.


Located in Waitsfield VT, parts are best offer. If the request to buy is this week, I can pull the parts. Otherwise the chassis is going into the shop to swap the motor out next monday, uncertain when it will return, but hopefully by the end of the month.
I accept paypal but would prefer cash. Willing to ship anything that will fit in usps flat rate boxes.

Seth - the 4 NASCAR "cup" wheels I have listed under race parts are a 5 x 5 bolt circle, 9.5" wide, 5" backspacing. Steel, not alloy - but the nicest steel wheels you can imagine. 255 -295 tires fit very well.

Did you want to trade them for subaru parts? I don't think those rims will suit my needs, but I'm sure we could work something out if you need subie stuff.

What is scary is just how bad it is on the bottom. However if you were to look at from above you wouldn't suspect a problem. I just picked up a free 02 TS wagon.....Free. Just had a bad motor. Has 220,000 miles on it, and it is ten times cleaner underneath.
I'm actually putting the motor from scrappy into it to be a daily driver(OK, Charlie is doing it). Joey is putting the turbo motor in to Scrappy for me.

Subaru actually has an active recall on on the control arms due to premature rust on this particular model.

is it too late to wheel it over to them for some freebies?

last I knew it was a long wait as the control arms are on a national backorder. As far as I know only the control arms are in the recall, none of the rest of the stuff. Not sure it's worth the hassle, as I'd rather you have the car to do your magic....and I still need to strip out the interior to get to the wiring harness.
Unless you think they'll good will the other rusty bits. I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.

yea, its not worth it.. I just like to stick it to Burlington Subaru as much as possible..

probably a long shot, and I don't even know if stuff is compatible, but...

i'm looking for a gas filler tube for my wife's 99 impreza outback...have any fillers in your parts stash?

I think they are compatible, but sorry no....the tube went to the crusher with the rest of the carnage from Philo. Sorry. That is one of those things where new is a wise option. They all seem to rust out. Try rockauto.com or fred beans.
