2013 Daewoo Challenge

Post by Rabbit Farmer »

We are having the Daewoo Challenge again this year.... a challenge that will last the entire season.

This is for experienced drivers. There is a financial penalty for putting the car in the woods.... we will have to figure out what that is.

There is also an entry fee to cover the costs. Don just did a timing belt and oil change (I think) and installed new struts that Arlo purchased. We need to recoup this cost to pay back Don and Arlo, plus any future maintenance.

Don and/or I will ensure the car gets to hill and back.

Arlo has put forth $100 for the challenge. We do not know how we will award the $100 ($x per event or $100 for the season).... perhaps use it to purchase custom plaques at the end of the year for all drivers. Everyone gets a vote... Arlo gets 5 votes because it is his money. :D

So... discussion for Friday night and in the forums.

Sign up for the season here or at the hill. Like I said, only experienced drivers. Unsure how many people the event will warrant, especially with it being 4 miles. By signing up for Ascutney, you have a spot for all hills this season.

1. Don
2. Steve
3. Arlo
4. Drew
5. Smokey

I think a magic 8 ball should be used to settle any disputes relative the process, and would be happy to donate one.

I'd like to submit my resume for consideration.

Please contact my agent for details --- he can be reached at Fat Old Hill Climb Drivers Association.

Obviously a typo. He meant Fast Old Hill Climb Drivers Association.

I would have bought a T-shirt, but they don't come any smaller than XXL....
Translating road racing to hillclimbing:
Proper tire selection== nothing hooks up on moss or wet leaves.
Staying on the racing line==anything paved is considered good.
