It is handy (but obviously not required) if you can reach it while belted in. For two reasons. 1) When you forget to turn in on and don't realize it until after you are all belted in and ready to start the car. 2) In an accident you can kill it before you even get out of the car.

I was in an incident years ago where the switch was mounted on the outside of the car and got turned off when the car hit a tree. The worker arriving on the scene assuming the switch was on and turned it the other way, thus turning it back on again. Then they proceeded to yell at me while I was hanging upside down in the car that the kill switch didn't work because all the dash lights were on. I was watching gas pour out of the carb in front of me when the dash lights came back on. I turned off the ignition and got out as fast as a I could. It was much later we figured out what happened.

OK, so, would being redundant and having a second switch, in series, in side or wherever be cool?
I like the idea of putting one inside, within my reach.

You can put more than one--or just one in a good place. I'm working building racing Miatas-and we mount them on the left front down bar of the roll cage in reach of the driver+ close to the window. Weld a bracket to a 1 1/2" split clamp + bolt it to the cage. Its inside-its in sight + in reach.

Yea, I don't know why but I thought they had to be located out-side the car.
Whatever.... I'll deal with moving it over the winter. But for future reference.
If I mount the switch to the down-bar, in-side the car, dose it matter that there's a window? Or would you have to run a net?

If you have windows, they have to be 1/4 of the way down.

Mine is mounted on the left side of my dashboard, nearest the drivers door and at side window level. It is inside the roll cage, out of the weather and easily accessible be me or by a worker. I almost always run with no side windows and a net (to try to keep the car cooler inside) go having to go thru glass to get to it is not an issue.

Ordered my wheels today, I'm freakin excited!
15X8 in back with a 1.75" Back space
15X8 in front with a 4.75" Back space

I was getting a little worried I'd have a car with no wheels..... No one seems to or not too many have a listing for a 4 X 130mm Bolt pattern in a steel wheel.
I can find wide fives every where all day.

These people have a lot of options, size's bolt patterns, etc, and were pretty much the only ones who seem to give a damn in helping out with someone with an odd ball bolt pattern and back spacing. So I figure I'd share the link for anyone interested.

Sorry if the thread skipped over a lot of the process's and progress made but my concentration, well you know where it's been.
It's been where it should be. I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDah to have this thing ready in a month.
-Finish Doors
-Finish Fenders
-Build Engine, 1835cc(69X92) Hoping for 100HP @ the wheels
-Build Tranny, 70's R+P 4.125 and 73 gear stack to top out a 95mph @ 5500rpm
-Rebuild and Modify my Kad's(Dual solex carbs)28mm to 32mm vents. (I'll try to give that stuff more attention)
-Carpet the floor, just the floor. Cause I like it like that.

Here's some pics of where we at. And I'm getting pretty amped.

All the scribbled up tape on the windshield is what I need to do. I get to peel it off when that task is done.
Helps me keep it straight when I get overwhelmed on what to do next.
